Welcome to Microcontest 10: Spiritual Successor
It's time for the last Microcontest of the year, so let's channel the spirit of the holidays and resurrect the dead! Wait, what do you mean that's not what "holiday spirit" is?
Your mission—if you choose to accept it—is to make a spiritual successor to the first map you ever posted on TF2maps.net. It can be a remake, reboot, or sequel; the only requirement is that it's inspired by the original. What you make today doesn't need to be the same mode, same theme, or even same overall concept as the original, but ideally it should have at least two of those three things!
To enter, reply to this thread claiming a spot. After the deadline, edit your map into your post to finalize your submission. You should only ever have one post in this thread until after submissions close!
For full Microcontest rules and submission procedure, check out the Microcontest Megathread.

You do not have to compile within the time limit, but I will only wait one hour past the deadline to collect maps at a maximum. After that your map will no longer be considered a valid entry, unless you contact me ahead of time.
Good luck!

FAQ:
You're free to choose whichever map you consider to be your "first." However, it must have been publicly released at some point. That's why I mentioned maps uploaded to the site; most fit that description.
In the case that your first publicly released TF2 map was for MvM or a non-standard mode, you are free to choose whatever you consider your first "standard" map to be instead. Alternatively, you can adapt that non-standard map into a standard mode, or just do the non-standard mode. Do keep in mind, however, that MvM and MvM-based modes will be tested separately if we get any, and any non-standard modes will be looked at but not played. Sorry, I don't know how to surf or set up a deathrun server!
Remember, you don't have to necessarily do a remake, you can choose to make a sequel instead! Alternatively, you may choose to recreate the first TF2 map you remember playing.
