So it seems that you can apparently join matches already in progress. That'd be great, if it wasn't for the fact that you don't get any xp from it whatsoever. You've just essentially wasted 20 minutes of your time waiting for 7 minutes of a steamroll with no rewards from it.

Brilliant.

Upgrade your PC? I can't complain about FPS at all.
This problem is happening to lots of people, and telling someone to upgrade their PC when it worked fine before isn't really a solution. It must be forcing something in an attempt to keep things fair, but it's detrimental to tons of people.

Is this a new thing? I couldn't even get into a server last night so I didn't have a chance to play. If it isn't new, then are you playing on windows or on a Unix/Linux system? I can't say I ever remember having an issue with memory and I'm on windows.

You on OS X by any chance? Because TF2 has had that memory leak ever since Gun Mettle, and I think a developer should not get a way with such a broken game but because it's Valve they apparently can.

I'm running Windows 10. I've never noticed the leak until the matchmaking beta started. Its weird because I only notice it when playing matchmaking, no other mode has an issue like that. I had noticed a huge performance issue when Gun Mettle hit, but I upgraded my computer around Christmas time, and its pretty much been smooth sailing; about 100 fps on pubs and mvm with ragdolls/gibs off.

I have upgraded my computer recently. Yes, I do use a laptop, but its because I need to mobility. Though still, I have an i7 at around 2.4 ghz, 6gb of ram, and a not so great graphics card (integrated Intel HD Graphics), but I can still handle pretty much all other games just fine. It works for pretty much everything I need, but I just don't get why a game that has a huge casual side doesn't play well with consumer level computers (aka not huge NASA rocket ships with Nvidia 1080s and 16gb of ram).

Yeah, thats exactly whats happening.

Sigh...

"Fixed a case where players would sometimes see other players carrying the wrong weapon(s)"

You did? Explain this then:

in fairness they said a case, not all cases
It's been in the game for 2 years at this point. 2 fucking years. To hear a developer say they fixed something after that many years and then see that makes me sad. I expect better from Valve. Way better.

Skip to 7:41 if the clip doesn't already do that. Embeds on this site don't seem to work with timestamps.

I think you should take some time to collect your calm.

Oh no soooo bad! Am I the only one who gives 0 fucks about that bug??? I played TF2 for several years and I've seen that bug so many times but never really bothered to question it other than point a finger at it and say "lol". I mean maybe if they changed their wording to say:

"Attempted to fix a case where players would sometimes see other players carrying the wrong weapon(s)" it would be correct but even then there is no need for being upset.

@Idolon Yes so true I tried javascripting and couldn't even make a cylinder move and the programming involved in more advanced games has to be some ridiculous stuff to go through.

All I see revolving around this update is negativity, negativity, and more negativity. (although I would justify that a bit more)

Why? Why should I accept the fact that Valve has made this game buggier with each update? If this was EA or Ubisoft or basically anybody else the entire fucking internet would've come down on them. There would've been internet articles on basically every gaming website ever and the bug would've been fixed in no time. But nooooooooo, because Valve's apparently some kind of holy god I just have to accept it and move on? I can't be critical of Valve's way of making each update feel like a massive downgrade? Same with the massive memory leak on OS X. Same story applies. Can't even play the game on anything higher than medium texture settings because for some obscure reason TF2 runs out of memory with it set to anything higher. Gun Mettle introduced this and was unplayable due to this, Valve limited OS X users to medium settings "while work was being done on a permanent fix" 2 days later. It's been over a year now, and nothing's fixed. At all. I gave them something like 30 different crash reports OS X spew out after a crash, hell, deliberately ran the game on high texture settings to make it crash and generate a report, and of course, no response. Not by email, or by game update. Luckily I found a guy with knowledge of the game's code recently (seems like he knows more about TF2's code than Valve themselves) who was willing to help out. You may know him too. He's called sigsegv.

You're a game dev, right? What type of customer reaction do you expect if you release a buggy mess of a game (if you can even call TF2 a "game". Would rather call it a guinea pig, a testbed for other Valve titles) and then continue to do nothing about these bugs, hell, introduce even more bugs with each update? Would you expect praise from your community? Would you even dare to ship a game that's so fundamentally broken on so many different levels? Don't think so, yet here's Valve doing just that. And I'm supposed to just let it happen and not complain about it "because it's Valve"? Not in a billion years.

I really dig this corridor in Brickyard spawns.

I really dig Brickyard's detailing in general. It does industrial/city right.

Probably, because for some classes its quite important to know which weapon they are holding. For example a demoknight, if he holds his grenade launcher or sword can matter quite a bit on deciding how to attack him. This is why its a very anoying bug to face. Not to mention it becoming more anoying when the weapon he holds becomes barely readable to begin with (because of random polygons).
If they say they fixed it it should have been properly fixed.

Its no diffirent to mvm, you can play with a full team of 12 vs a full team of 12 and still dont get a server while it realy isnt that hard to find out they can just be matched together. Its more likely that those empty servers are simply disabled and cant be used. They are just stated as empty because the server is still running.

Also, for pub matchmaking, does it realy matter that much which players get matched together? its very likely you wont get a decent battle even if it waited 60mins to match the perfect team. The first few days you will simply face trash players. It allways has been like that. After a few days the good players will still have ranked a little, yet trash players will stay at the bottom for a long time.
Even if you are decent but are unlucky at matchmaking, those decent players can quickly rank up and you will not be facing them and this means your battles should go easier with it. Eventualy reaching that balanced state aswel.

It can easily take months before players reach a level they should be at.

No draw_viewmodel on MM is really,REALLY stupid. It's not like i'm getting a HUGE advantage if I hide my model.

And I'm still waiting for a proper config for the game... Or at least BETTER optimization... Pyros don't lag me,that's really good. But I'm still getting horrible fps.
