What motivates you to create maps?
people playing and enjoying them
and also people walking around in a world that came from my imagination
figuring out on why hard work is so much fun for people
and also figuring out the meaning of 42.
I like entertaining people, so seeing people have fun/like my maps encourages me to keep going.
It's a creative outlet for me, and it's always fun to run around on something that you made, seeing other people who are also enjoying it.
Same as above,although my motivation runs out REALLY quickly,and I stop doing everything for a couple of days,because I'm being a lazy son of a gun. V;
Broadening my skillset and developing a portfolio of work I can be proud of.
Money that I will get once my maps gets official
Actually I just try to do something else than gaming on PC. I started YT channel 2,5 years ago but but 6 months ago I pretty much abandoned it because map making and play testing
I get motivated by the world around me. :^)
Just like my old saying goes:
Or it may also go like this:
I am quite anti-social for sure, but this saying does the trick.
At least it does for me. (So please don't judge me!) :<
It gives me something to do and it's pretty fun
aaaaand that's about it
Mapping is fun, and my hammer skills let me feel like I'm good at something.
Nah, im actually quite good at English and better at Russian than most of the Russians but would that count?
I like to make things
That's an awesome way of looking at it. I'll keep that in mind next time someone plays on my maps.
Entertaining others and just creating stuff or generally just being creative is fun and motivating to me.
I want as many people to fall into cruel deathpits as absolutely possible.
Nah, i've always been more of a creator rather than a player, ever since i started making levels for Mr. Robot on the C64. With Hammer, i can be creative and look at awesome things i created without having to wear pants. That's a big plus.
Whenever i play a game with mechanics i really enjoy (which includes pretty much every quake-like arcade shooter) i always ask if i can map for that.
Go outside or inspirate of Valve maps
