What motivates you to create maps?

I like entertaining people, so seeing people have fun/like my maps encourages me to keep going.

It's a creative outlet for me, and it's always fun to run around on something that you made, seeing other people who are also enjoying it.

Same as above,although my motivation runs out REALLY quickly,and I stop doing everything for a couple of days,because I'm being a lazy son of a gun. V;

Actually I just try to do something else than gaming on PC. I started YT channel 2,5 years ago but but 6 months ago I pretty much abandoned it because map making and play testing

Just like my old saying goes:

"If you hang out with friends - you waste your time. If you're alone - you do stuff."

Or it may also go like this:

"If you hang out with friends - you waste your time. If you're alone - you'll have a desire to do something."

I am quite anti-social for sure, but this saying does the trick.

That's an awesome way of looking at it. I'll keep that in mind next time someone plays on my maps.

Entertaining others and just creating stuff or generally just being creative is fun and motivating to me.

I want as many people to fall into cruel deathpits as absolutely possible.

Nah, i've always been more of a creator rather than a player, ever since i started making levels for Mr. Robot on the C64. With Hammer, i can be creative and look at awesome things i created without having to wear pants. That's a big plus.

Whenever i play a game with mechanics i really enjoy (which includes pretty much every quake-like arcade shooter) i always ask if i can map for that.
