UPLOAD THREAD
This is the thread where you put your 72 hour contest maps! This thread will be locked whenever uploading is not allowed. Please don't edit your posts after the deadline is over. We will know, and you'll be disqualified! There will be a 5-10 minute grace period for uploads after the contest is over, just in case stuff goes awry (because it always does).
Here's an outline for submitting your map:
Filename: [map filename]
Author: [your name]
Thread: [link to thread] [optional!]
Download: [download link]
Screenshot: [link to image(s)] [optional!]
For uploading your map, please use our own file hosting service or Dropbox. They're both free, and it makes my job a lot easier. .bz2 is not required, but requested if you're not repacking your maps.
SHOWCASE VIDEO
At the end of each contest, a showcase video is typically put together! It features a short clip of each map from the contest. However, this also means that each map needs to be ready for use in Source Filmmaker. This means your map needs to be compiled in HDR! If your map is not compiled with HDR, then it will be shown in the showcase as rendered through TF2 (and it won't be as pretty). If you'd like to opt out of the showcase video, then say so in your upload post.
JUDGING OPT-OUT
You are not allowed to release new versions of your map while your map is still in the running. Depending on the number of submitted maps, the judging/voting procedure may take a month or longer! If you would like to opt out of the judging procedure so that you may continue updating your map directly after the end of the 72 hours, then say so in your upload post. You'll still be considered a participant in the contest, but your map will not be considered in the judging process (meaning it will not be eligible for winning prizes, and it will not be tested as a part of the contest judging gamedays).
Note that the judging procedure may end up being split into multiple rounds. If your map gets eliminated from the running at any point, then you are allowed to continue updating the map right then and there.
Good luck!
