Just a quick reminder that you may not release any new versions of your maps until your map is no longer in the running to win. If you'd like to update your map, you can withdraw from the judging process by sending me a private message.

If we continue working on our map, can we release screenshots/images of our work? Like in the WIP thread etc.

From what I understood this is discouraged so people don't confuse your new and old work.

I thought we should upload our maps in the Contest Entries, how the fuck should I know that you are going to open a new thread where we are submiting our maps? What is the purpose of a Contest Entries forum if you are not even going to use it????

First of all, calm down.

The submission thread is for submitting the entries on time. That's the actual submit function.

The contest entries is for map specific feedback, changelogs and iterations that separate them from the main bunch of non-contest maps.

Sorry, but this was my first contest and I tried very hard on my map which in the end wasn't even submitted. There are even other people on the Contest Entries who posted their map there, how should I know that there is going to be a seperate thread? That's completely impractical, at least put it on the front page or even better just create the thread when the contest starts, post a link on the main discussion post and unlock the submission thread on the deadline...
I even finished before the deadline and my map wasn't submitted fml http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=25220

It wasn't mentioned in the thread that you needed to submit to the upload thread. I thought that it was normally there, so the fact that it is missing is concerning.

the upload thread was constantly being bumped to the top of the forums and if you were unsure or wanted to double check, you could've asked.

That all being said, I can see where someone could potentially miss the thread. It has been shared with the staff and I'm sure idolon will accept your map for submission.

Can we get a break down of:

How many entered
How many Completed

How many completed and accepted for judging
How many not completed but not in/ for judging

(note: mine still needs to be submitted / not judged - I ran into a coding and compile bug - vrad has been running for over 6 hours now - but I still wanted it to be included for the contest as the map was made for the contest if that's possible - I am slao at work so can't get back to it for another 7 hours)

You're way past the deadline, so I won't be accepting your map. Sorry!

The contest has 67 maps in it at the moment. I'm not really sure what you mean by any of the other questions, so I can't answer.

Ya I figured as much - no problems - I completed the map two hours after the clock expired ran into a major coding bug (stopped me dead in the contest - took two hours to fix but now have a brand new mpl_coding game mode structure). The time wouldn't have mattered though - after running repeated tests during the course of the event vrad decided to give me a 6 hour + complie

Thanks none the less :thumbup1:

I was looking for an over all percentage of how many entered vs. completion ratio :)

Hey Ido (or anybody who can/wants to), can you edit in a link to my map's thread on its upload thread post? It's the first post in the upload thread (other than the initial one) and the link to the maps' thread is here:

Quick heads up - cp_estuary_a2 has been switched to cp_estuary_a2a. a2 was corrupted on upload somehow, and it doesn't work. a2a was uploaded at roughly the same time, and actually loads.

Another heads up - cp_ace72 should be _a3, not _a2. They're identical, except for a bug that was hopefully fixed that would rarely crash everyone playing the map. If you decide to run any tests of 72 hour maps, make sure you use a3.

Do you guys like heads up messages? I sure do!

This is to let you know that next week's schedule has been modified. The original plan was to test Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and then use the next week for "leftover" tests where people could request to play maps that they hadn't played yet (for judging purposes).

The new plan is to change next week's schedule to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and use the rest of the week for the leftover tests. This shaves a week off of the original schedule time! Assuming you're not a finalist, you'll be allowed to update your maps before the month is over.

Note that these leftover tests aren't scheduled - hop into our chatroom and inquire within. If there's enough interest on a particular day, we'll run a test. I imagine most people will be tired of testing 72 hour maps by then though, so try to get as many maps in on the scheduled tests!
