I was also wondering if there's going to be any kind of scheduling this year. I remember during the last contest I felt there was a lot of time wasted replaying maps. Any chance we could do scheduled events a few times a week? I would be able to run some as long as it's after 7pm EST.
We could maybe do 6-7 maps a week and have 3-4 events where we play only those maps. I think that would be helpful because players would get to have all week to knock out those maps and then the next week they would be different. This way we'd all be on the same page.
Geit will be providing a download for all of these at some point, so nobody needs to waste their time with that.
As for scheduled playtesting, that's sort of what my plan is. I don't have the schedule actually worked out yet, but I'm thinking 3 gamedays a week with 6 maps each. That's 18 maps a week, or just under 4 weeks long. Those 18 maps will probably also be the default rotation for that week. Again, not set in stone, but that's the current plan.
Fuck this shit. I uploaded wrong version of my map because I had koth_nonameyet_b1 AND koth_nonameyet_b1_001 in tf/maps folder!!! Please kill me and then murder Hammer. Silently.
My commendations go out to everyone who rose up to the challenge, even if you didn't manage to make it on time. It's a tough end to meet, for sure, but it was great to see everyone putting forth their best, and to see our newer members learn a whole lot about mapping in a really short time. Everyone put forth great effort, and I'm looking forward to playing all the maps.
I've thrown together a spreadsheet you can use to keep track of all the maps, what you have and haven't played, and what comments you got for the authors: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fwxsklt68qq5uwr/TF2M S2015 72h Map List.ods?dl=0. Hopefully it makes everyone's lives easier in the huge lot of testing to come.
Best of luck, everyone.
