Submission Format:

In your submission (in the submission thread, Will be posted at a later date):
  • A link to your .bsp in one compressed (.bz2) archive following the naming format of detail2014_forumname Use the tf2maps.net upload system or dropbox.
  • Please make sure ALL content is pakrat'd into your BSPs, but please make sure it follows the custom content rules above.
  • You should provide only one screenshot of your map, taken at the best gfx quality your pc can handle, no HUD elements or player models either. For more information on how to do this, click here.

EDIT: I'd like to not a few things about this map before any tests begin, A: I did not understand the concept of LDR light prior to this contest. Please look with HDR on to see proper cubemaps. B: There is a bug with the skybox water that causes strange and unusal reflections. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but it's not particularly rare, either. I have no idea how to fix this, or even why it happens. Just go to spectate and go inside of a solid. That usually clears it or changes the reflection to something else. After you do it enough times, it works. C: Technically, TFC is canon in the TF2 universe. So you can't disqualify me for that overlay.

Here's mine. I think I did well for a first time mapper. And please ignore the motherducking Christmas lights on the cables. Blame Valve for that.

IMPORTANT NOTE: this map has soundscapes which are properly present in the map. TF2 has the tendency to ignore them after you've visited a lot of other maps so you're stuck on a silent map. To fix this, simply disconnect from the map, run sv_cheats 1 and then mat_reloadallmaterials and then reload the map.

Oh and sorry people, no cubemaps. They wouldn't build initially, but thanks to our good friend TopHatWaffle I managed to get them working (upon compiling Hammer automatically gives cubemaps to all surfaces for no reason preventing me to build the actual cubemaps), but building cubemaps also completely destroyed the lighting in my level, as in models suddenly became very brightly lit while they weren't that way before I build cubemaps.
