An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:
  • Improved map load times for players on Windows (DX9), Mac and Linux
  • Fixed random client crashes affecting some players with cosmetics
  • Fixed random crashes on Mac, Linux and Windows XP that could affect users during map load and during play
  • Fixed a bug with some ambient_generic entities failing to play their sounds
  • Fixed a bug where players would see cosmetic items following them around while playing Mann vs. Machine
  • Fixed not being able to 'inspect' the World Traveler hat
  • Updated the model/materials for The Tyrantium Helmet, The Digit Divulger, and The Toy Soldier
  • Added Asiafortress Season 8 medals
  • Mannpower update
    • Updated health kits to give players the normal amount even if their powerup increases max health
    • Updated the Vampire powerup to slightly reduce the amount of health received from flamethrower attacks. The flamethrower now matches the minigun in this regard.
    • Fixed a missing material for ctf_hellfire

Improved map load times? Yeah no, you did not. Still slow as balls, even on a PCIe-SSD based system which is what I currently have.

And Mannpower got updated? Didn't 95% of the community agree that it was DOA? No need to keep reviving it.

I've actually been having a lot of fun on it lately, even on Hellfire. I dominated several players with nothing but a strange Tribalman's Shiv and the vampire powerup.

Is this the bug we'd been talking about? The one that they disabled Very High textures to try to fix?

Are you guys talking about that bug where some models have a very low quality texture, and this texture slowly fades into high quality?
I have that with the GunMettle cases and the jack from Passtime

Yeah well it's not a good thing, because it doesn't just "load" it once, it loads it everytime I look at the models.
Every. Time.
I understand it's useful for slower PCs, I know because I used to run PotatOS myself.
But I upgraded and now it's annoying to deal with this x)
