How do you decide who is a newer mapper?
Crash is pretty new
Never heard of him, must be a chump
That's what I was going to say. The new mappers who came after 2011 would really like to try it out.
I personally want another BATT
The artpass contest had one glaring problem: Everyone who entered and didn't win had a map that no one would ever play, no matter how good it was. And that was after ending up with twice as many winners as we had planned. Usually if you don't win a contest, hey, at least you made something and it might still be worthwhile or at least you could always improve it.
I personally treated it as much-needed detailing practice, but we got some damn fine entries that will never get played again. Hell, we got some damn fine assets that will never see the light of day anywhere else, too, although that's mainly the entrants' fault.
The issue would be lessened a little by the fact SFM exists now and I'm sure people would love using the other detail entries as set pieces for their stuff. People also really like remixes of maps they love, like abandoned upward, so if you put it on the workshop people will eat it up even if it isn't a winner. That's just what I think
Yeah the workshop exists now, it'll make it a little easier for those maps to be discoverable even if they lost.
It's like the good side of the billion of 2fort rethemes.
(shit wrong thread)
Putting this out there, since Pi day is coming up we should have a 3.14 hour contest B)
I can't imagine what the timer would have to look like...
My hands are already sweaty, and I can feel the stress already... Just at the simple IDEA of this
how long will that last?
Is the next 72 hr contest going to be layout designing or full map?
its always the same
sorry I dont remember the last one
Any likelihood of a April Fools 2017 contest?
It's been said that there won't be one but there will be a gameday
Wasn't there an Artpass Contest a long time ago?
There was some discussion about how a new one would go down on the previous page, too.
