I still like the idea of making an Artpass contest where everybody has to detail Turbine

Yeah, another art pass contest would be heaps of fun.... Mostly because I was too late to enter the spawn room contest!
A no-prop contest.
Only brushes can be used, I think this will be a great way for everyone to practice his brushwork and especially beginners since they seem to flood their map with out of place props.
Yes, please, just let us, girls, participate too. It would be really interesting to see, how much detail can you make with displacement meshes and brushwork detail. Also could be nice to see tips "how to optimize detail" because just putting everything as func_detail may end up being worse than props (func_lod, areaportals/windows, clever skybox...)
Making everything func_detail would mean turning everything into a single entity for vbsp.
I didn't mean literally everything. I meant large amounts of detail with very complex geometry. Just because func_detail-ing lets vvis to take place at all, it still impacts framerate
How about a mini contest were you HAVE to include a random number of a random prop in a detailing area, possibly with a random theme?

Let's have a realistic idea: landscape contest. Make as stunning and beautiful scene as you can
I propose a normal map contest
make whatever map you want and submit it for judging - no restrictions in gamemodes, collabs allowed
do the Dynamic PL contest again
I'm talking about a contest that isn't 3 days long
The alternative gamemode contest
This is my idea for a contest where you can only make a map that is the one of the following
Gamemodes:Tc,Pass,Sd,Medival,Arena,Pd and Rd
I already posted a idea like this but this post is more refined I think this contest would give these gamemodes more love I would really hope this idea becomes official
The end of Assy2 contest is getting nearer and it is time to start thinking about the next contest.
The Custom gamemode contest?
A contest in which participants use one of selected custom gamemodes to make a playable map.
There are quite a number of good custom gamemodes in the download section just buried and left untouched.
It would be nice to get some of them highlighted as a result of this contest.
Not a super original idea but another artpass contest could be fun.
I for one suck at general layout, I/O, and scaling; so I'd welcome a contest that highlights good detail work.
I feel like we should do another BATT... It would be great fun, especially for someone like me, that absolutely hates making payload maps, as the track always ends up being flat...
Maybe one for newer mappers?
How about another artpass contest? Would Valve be up for that again (if they have a spare map lying around in pre-detail stage)?
