Everybody hates that mode, it goes against how tf2 works and has terrible balance problem, so maybe not

Not everyone, surely. I definitely see some positives.

How about a "country of the world" theme contest ?
Like everyone who would like to participate choose a country and make a map in the style of this country.

I don't know if anybody said this already but what about trying to make CTF as competitively viable as possible? You can change the rules and all, the more 'competitively viable' (this must be defined by the judges) and liked by professionals, the more likely to win.

Ye Olde Mapping Conquest

The rules are simple:
Create a map in the style of medieval

which uses Medieval Mode.

It may be any gamemode,
any environment (alpine, desert, snowy, etc),
so long as it is has medieval detailing (and is original),
it may be entered in the contest.

I know this idea probably has been done already,
but I'm a huge fan of medieval mode,
so...yeah.

How about a contest where all the themes and sub themes are given a certain, maybe 1 - 26? I'm not sure what all the themes are.
Anyway, when someone is entered, they are given a double digit number, each number representing a different map theme. Now this candidate must combine the two themes to make there own map.
The only big problem I can find for now is the random factor, which may give someone an advantage. For example, One person gets a combination of alpine and process, while another gets snowy and acrid land
btw, if I got the acrid/snowy theme, I would make a desert that has an arctic enclosure somewhere, in which the payers duke it out in

someone makes a base map, a simple gamemode, undetailed. it would detailed monthly in diff. styles depending on month. Jan: alpine Feb: desert ETC. the reward would be small, something like 1 ref a month or a similar value, just so it isn't reward orientated. this would be a detail contest.

I kind of like this idea, but instead of having it be on a monthly basis, have it to where all participants are given a base map (no detail, all dev textures) and each contestant will detail it however they want; no setting given or the like whatsoever.

Im not sure how all this relates to not being monthly. the theme idea is mostly to prevent staleness if it was monthly.

What about a contest where maps must be based off of recognizable real life locations? For instance, imagine fighting on the Statue of Liberty, or inside Big Ben.
