Test Mapping

There is a problem with the test mapping over on the sever were a non good player can not try test his own map with other players I was on my old map today and I went spectator but I told I could not. I wanted to make sure that I was on the winning team so that nobody will laugh at me loseing and so I won't rage quite on my own map due to there is comp players on the other team. No body thinks about the lower skilled players. It's frustrating for the newer player who wants to test out the map and then get drestroyed by the other team as they laugh at the lower skilled player. Now people will say that the other team is not laughing but it is lie because you can not prove that they are not lieing, therefore laughing at the not as skilled player. All this will not let the lower skill player have fun or even test his own map. The best solution is to just let the newer player go into spectator and see which team is winning so the lower skilled playee can join that team.

You should spend less time trying to win more games and spend more time learning to be okay with losing. It can be frustrating to lose, but even if you're an average player, it'll happen half of the time. If you can figure out how to have fun even when your team is losing, you'll have a much more enjoyable and productive time playing the game.

Well I would have fun if I knew that players won't laugh at me when I lose. I know they do.

True, but other people laughed at me due to me not being good. So if anyone laugh at me I have to think that everyone does. I can never know who is laughing or not.

I can pretty much assure you nobody would laugh at you for losing during a map test, those that do would probably be 8 year olds

If anyone is making fun of you, it's because you're switching teams to avoid losing, not because you're losing. If people are actually making fun of you for being bad at the game, then they probably aren't your friend and they aren't worth listening to.

They were not, they sounded like in there 25ish. Well I wanted to test out the map for the first time then on the sever. Then they came in and laughed when I got killed.

Well it's hard not to due to if they laugh at me, I don't know who else will. I am trying to be cautious about each game I play so I won't get laughed at.

There are plenty of low skilled players in TF2m. Heck from the games we've played you're better than me. But people don't laugh at me and life goes on. I don't know what to do to then. I can't not stop worrying because it will happen to me again and then the cycle will happen again and I will post something like this. I don't want people to laugh at me so I have to prove to them that I can do better then them. But that's hard when you keep dieing. I hate this so much.

I've got a slight hunch you're turbulent. Unfortunately, for turbulent individuals, things like not taking criticism too negatively and not worrying what others think of us is difficult, and as such we'll constantly second-guess ourselves and let criticism- even constructive criticism- get to our heads. I should know, I'm turbulent myself. It's why I waited until A3 to release my first map, skyline/skyfall (although considering how underscaled it was, I probably should have waited a bit longer). It's why I nearly abandoned the MvM contest, and why every time one of my maps is tested, I get a bit nervous as I anticipate the feedback. Simply "manning up" and ignoring what others think/say isn't easy for these types. Unfortunately, you need to figure out how to do it anyway. You're not gonna get any better at TF2 by sitting on the sidelines all the time. That's not to say you should ignore criticism- criticism is an important part of learning- but try not to let it get to your head. Focus on becoming better so that one day, you can be one of those pubstompers that you used to fear. And know that you're not the only one who feels this way. I understand what you're going through, and I'm sure there are others here, in this very thread, who know and share your pain. The fear of criticism and ridicule hurts a lot, I know, and imagining what others think makes you want to cease existing. Whenever you feel discouraged, just remember that all of us here at TF2Maps believe in you and want you to succeed- both in game and in Hammer.
