I think the one here that hurts the most is crash, I used to really really like his older maps (and still do) but his more recent maps just haven't hit the same for me unfortunately. Call it nostalgia bias or whatever but there seems to be a different "mood" he has when making these maps that don't feel as genuine as the older maps do. (Also it sucks how vilepickle was a POS because his maps capture the "Classic" TF2 feel PERFECTLY)

Crash was dethroned as one of my "legends" a while ago-- not because of anything particular he did or didn't do, but because I decided to stop considering other mappers as legends to begin with. We're all just passionate gamers, no need to put each other on pedestals.
That said, if I still held any of my fellow mappers in high regard like that, I'd have a few notable legends. People like @MegapiemanPHD (for his "Look at My Map" series, which I pray will return one day), @Diva Dan (for single-handedly saving MvM Helix when I collaborated with him years ago, before blasting off to become one of the most productive mappers/creators I know), @asylum (pipeb all)...
Even you would make that list, Katsu! Your custom map collection is an invaluable resource.
That said, if I still held any of my fellow mappers in high regard like that, I'd have a few notable legends. For a second I thought crash died from this post. TBH I think his newer maps are just as good as the old ones, there's various elements of experimentation he is trying, it might not hit the same for everyone, but I honestly find it refreshing and hope he continues with it.

maybe its cause i never went thru a stage of treating him like an e-celeb, so to me youre just making a public show of shitting on some guy i know whos just enjoying his hobby
