So glad I turned sprays off years ago.

Who the fuck wants to see that shit?

Ask yourself: Is the game improved by half a dozen other people's shitty taste in shitty humour? Is it really?

I don't get memes and jokes as sprays. To me, sprays are basically like tagging, so you want a spray that identifies you in some way.

Honestly, yes. I like seeing other peoples shenanigans.

The diffirence mainly lies in how good the sprays are. Most sprays are just a poor image with a text 100% based on a meme no one even finds funny and is overused. An image of doge would be the perfect example of this. These dont even identify the player who sprayed it because easily 100 people would have such spray. And these types i rather see removed.

However, there are sprays which do take in some effort of getting a fitting image to a fitting piece of text. In some cases they wont identify the player, but at least they took the effort to find a spray of decent quality. Even if its a meme. And a doge image with some twist to it using text already could do fine. As long as that line is unique for the player.

The best sprays are realy tags, once you see it you know which player it is. The tag doesnt have to display any name or relation to the player. A "random cat image" with "NO" as text on it might be as random as it can be. But with 1 specific image im 100% sure its a specific player. Even when he randomly joined 1 of the 100 valve servers and suddenly got in the same server. Once i see it i know its him.
Those are good sprays and those are the ones i would like to see. Even if it involves a bad meme. It identifies the player well.

There are no "bad memes".

Every meme is special.

To be fair, one could expect most people who are interested in the video game industry to be at least somewhat familiar with who John Romero is. (He did design & programming for Doom, Quake, etc.)
