An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:
  • Updated content and features for the TF2 Competitive Mode beta
  • Added display of popular TF2 streams to the main menu
  • Updated models/materials for the Heavy's Hockey Hair, The Gift Bringer, and The Soviet Gentleman
  • Actually fixed the round timer not showing up in non-competitive games

Was the 'Report Player' button there before? I don't see it specifically mentioned in any recent patch notes.

TF2's menu is such a hilarious mishmash of ancient and modern designed UI elements. I wonder if they plan to ever start over with it.

How much can you customize the actual menus, anyway? All I've ever seen custom versions of is the main menu itself, and even then only when people added options for mappers.

For some reason they usually post the matchmaking notes in the matchmaking group.
DrLambda: so, ive been reading that they post the tf2 comp patch notes in the group
DrLambda: but where?
DrLambda: or are they lost beneath a shitton of people both begging for mm passes and giving out mm passes?

>Viaduct is out of the competitive matchmaking pool, and has been replaced with Lakeside

So Valve removes the best map in the whole pool for a universally hated highlander map... okay valve whatever

A lot of us assume they're doing what they do with csgo, removing the map temporarily to update it (probably to add product's features) and putting a temporary placeholder up while they do so.

I'm not sure if they posted the matchmaking changes in the group this time, but I know they have in the past.
It's kinda annoying, they should post all the patch notes together.

I saw you post this on Reddit too, but you're completely missing the point of why Valve do that in CSGO. A lot of the time the map they are renovating is terrible and gets replaced with another one because the map as it is doesn't work or csgo and needs an update.
What they're doing with Viaduct right now isn't like that, if they really wanted to make changes they'd do so like they did with Cobblestone.

It would be like removing Dust2 from the matchmaking pool and adding Aztec to replace it. Might be just to add some variation, most pub players love Lakeside.

Can you not be such a condescending asshole and actually refute my points? Viaduct is honestly the best for this 6v6 no restrictions mode in my honest opinion, because all classes shine as well as others and it has a very good diversity of gameplay, badlands comes close but is generally not so good because of the final point cap time, which is very hard to stop in an unorganized team.

This update broke the chat box. You can't close it anymore if you're unlucky forcing you to restart the game.

Brilliant Valve. Absolutely brilliant /s
