I've been running the Windows 10 Insider Preview for the past few months and haven't had any issues at all running TF2 or Hammer. There are some issues with the latest NVidia driver causing graphical glitches and a massive memory leak in NVidia ShadowPlay, but hopefully those will be sorted in the next official driver release from NVidia.
It's also worth noting that the release timeline is likely to be staggered, and many people won't be upgraded immediately but instead over the coming weeks. That being said, if you offered the upgrade on Wednesday I'd advise holding off for at least a week to make sure there are no huge issues with the release; after all, the upgrade offer's valid for an entire year.
I am now terrified to upgrade. Build 10130 nuked my network driver and also prevented me from reinstalling it. Since that was a build supposed to fix network issues I'm not convinced my issue will be fixed.
I ended up rolling back (which caused a whole bunch of new issues, like the start menu doesn't work at all) and disabling the windows update service so that it doesn't roll me forwards to a build where it isn't fixed.
It's been 6 weeks, but I think I'll keep this version until at least the 2nd post-launch build.

Done , I've finised the map but it will take about 3 mins util it uploads due to internet conection

I am a really NOOB mapper. ive only had around a month of experience and only know as much as UEAKcrash's tutorials. I dont think i can compete with all of these guys. i dont know how to do anything, full compile WTF is that? how do i submit my map? how to i test it on a server. i dont have any friends to help me out. i cant map for shit so im probably going to skip this one. hopefully ill have enough experience to compete in the next one :crying:

Even if you don't really stand a chance in the standings, this is an amazing opportunity to learn by doing. It's your best time to be in the Steam chat, where people will answer your newbie questions happy, in real-time.
For most of the stuff you'll be doing in this contest you won't need a 'Full Compile', which is primarily for building beta builds of your map, for early stuff I often release using Normal or Fast compiles.
I would really recommend you do participate if you can. Even if you don't submit a map, this really is the best way to learn.
I haven't posted about this here yet but I guess here goes.
Over the weekend of the contest I am hosting a LAN/meetup, hosted at my house.
Attendees include Ms. Mudpie, worMatty, Psy and Tekku.
I've spent the past two weeks preparing my dad's museum/show-room up for the event and as such there are beds, desk space and eating space available in the rather large gathering space.
My internet is poor so there will be no streaming of anything from the event, but we may collectively get on Mumble during the contest.
Possible additional attendees include LeSwordfish and Spaceman Haskell (not a tf2m member).

set up video cameras on tripods, and film the contest oldschool and turn it into a timelapse or documentary afterwards!
