recent investigations lead me to believe the map only crashes on tf2m but it's too soon to jump to conclusions

Maybe a plugin on the TF2M server is crashing it, like the Feedback plugin?
Dunno what could cause something like that though, unless you put in feedback markers and then forgot to remove them or something.

This is a long shot, but it may be something with the filename... maybe there's something in the name that the tf2maps server doesn't like?
If this helps, downloading the map from the server took an abnormal time; about 6 minutes. (I can download zinkenite on the tf2maps server in about 1.) Maybe the map isn’t being downloaded completely?

It may be more likely that there's something in the actual map that's causing the crash though. Have you checked the console for any errors? The only other thing I can think of is a .nav mesh getting packed in there accidently with the construction pack content and screwing everything up.

I'm having this map on test now at my 30 slot server, i have one reported person getting "missing map" error (not sure if he just placed the map on wrong dir or something, as he was unable to get it from download host while others got it fine) but no crashes to anyone as far as i can tell.

It could be something within the spot where the screen first goes (the camera view once you get through the welcoming screen and such). Have a look at that spot. While joining team, go spec and see what you see. Maybe that view has something that makes certain dx-level users crash or something.

Oh and have you loaded it up on a server and had a look at the _server console_? Sometimes some errors appear only there, not on the client at all.

Does the map have an observer_point? If it did, have you accidently deleted it?

Some people may see that as obvious, and don't think to check, but a lack of any observer_points is a common cause of maps crashing.

If you do have an observer point, maybe it would be worth deleting, and replaceing it with a new one?

Hey, by the way, you might have an issue with this crashing the server because of the number of props. I would check the number. I know that earlier versions of a map I made crashed servers with too many props.

We tried to do a playtest, it didn't crash the server, but 4 or 5 people crashed before they could load the map. So yah, it does appear to have some issues.

That Load-up crash bug is a TF2 thing, not a map thing.

yeah my crash happens post-load, on the map loading screen. I sure hope it's a tf2m exclusive thing because there's really nothing that can be wrong with the map at this point. I did try everything I swear.

- redesigned a secondary path around the 2nd capture point
- redesigned both paths around the final capture point
- increased cap time on 2nd capture point
- edited the spawn points to face the right side door when the 2nd point is owned
- fixed exploit on last point where you could get outside the map
