What kind of resolution are we talking? Because the immediate difference between 32 and 8-bit images is actually not as distinct as you'd imagine.

That's also using the base 256 palette, so it's not just compressed to the closest amount of 256 colours what are already in the image (as it's already desaturated and limited to whites and browns).
