@Viperi there appears to be some missing pipe textures for the ones on the floor surrounding the point
@Beef Bucket it appears no custom assets were packed properly, many missing textures/models and a few strange lines in the sky
@Gorgonzilla your lighting + cubemaps appear to be broken
@Hosomi cubemaps appear broken
@SmallBiscuit cubemaps appear broken
@Smiley the Smile missing textures in some areas, more specifically under the point
@Tierra-Verde missing textures on the roof of the spawnroom
@Wolfen missing content appears to be broken, many missing textures (although no missing models)

What's up with so many people putting the effort to make spawnrooms, yet they don't actually work as spawnrooms. Not even the resupply cabinets work. It's mildly frustrating.

I just got done walking through all the maps and had a friend message me with videos showing how mine was broken. Seems all but one model packed but the pack program left out the textures, otherwise the models would be errors. Gonna try and figure out another way to pack, because Packrat let me down. Won't reupload unless Freyja says so, but this is surprisingly wide spread with 80% of the entries having some issue of the sort involving missing textures or broken cubemaps.

There really isn't any reason to use pakrat these days since there are far superior tools like compilepal, or at least VIDE

I actually hadn't heart about VIDE till like 10 minutes ago when I did a google search for BSP packers. A short tutorial and I realized pakrat left a lot out. Good knowledge for the future, now to re-read the first post on how to compress the BSP. When my Mac is cooler in a few I'll boot it up and test out the map to see if it's pack correctly now. Every mistake is just another learning experience. :)

Not sure how you can get that extension if voting is already open, and some people already cast their votes with unpacked maps soooo...

Exactly, overall it was 8 out of 13 and normally you just take it that things didn't work out. I'm more upset I won't get a critique that'll help me, all the comments will be about the textures rather than geometry, layout, and model placement. But I understand it's too late and that I'll just have to accept this was a learning experience about properly packing a map, rather than map creation. To those who didn't have issues, I wish you well. I'll run through my notes later and cast my own votes and do a critique for everyone, ignoring the broken issues for those I share a boat with. :)

I have two displacement brushes connecting that look fine in hammer, but in game they are different shades, will I lose marks for this, even tho there isn't anything I think I can do to make it smooth?

I've already sent in my submissions and while of course only frey can actually dictate content policy, I think that if you wanted to not have people tell you to pack things you should have checked you were packing things. I've given comments on everything more than just "missing textures", but to not check the packing for a week and then ask for an extension... you made this bed, I wouldn't blame frey for insisting that you lie in it.

Building cubemaps needs to be done with HDR off and HDR on. I suspect you did cubemaps build only once for the other. People who use different setting, will see them broken.

Pakrat doesn't automatically pack textures for models, you need to do that for yourself. It packs basically everything else with auto option, except model textures and particle files.

Pakrat works just fine, it's just little more advanced and not so automated as some more recent packing programs are. I've seen people having issues with VIDE too and compilepal also. No program is perfect.

Also a reminder for everyone who submits stuff, you can check your map if it's packed properly with starting a game, bring up console, type sv_pure 2 into it, and then run the map with map yourmapname. This will force everything coming out from the bsp file itself, not from directories.
