I have to spend money and waste time doing pointless things to host a server and get people to play it?You have to be VIP to host an impromptu actually.
Also you have to !add the map in the tf2maps steam chat so that we can actually test it out.
And you should probably name it something so that VIP's and above can recognize it.
So I can't just host my own server and people just join? I find it pointless to add something to a list if joining the server downloads the map file, and being VIP is just a retarded requirement, since anyone can just host a damn server.you don't have to do it if you don't want us to play it.

how do you set up an impromptu? If you want to host your own server and test your own map, be our guest - drop into the steam chat and ask around for players.
We do have a system set up so people can use our servers, though! Join the group chat (linked on the front page) and we can tell you how - what this means is adding your map to a list, and then we'll test several maps at once with a full server. We call these "impromptus" or "imps" and anyone can join/play/submit maps - only VIPs can host though, since it's important they go right.

I used to make detailed change logs, but when barely anyone reads them anyway, there's no point. Go see beachhead.Such thoughtful change log.
