I'd personally recommend Own3D with the XSplit Broadcaster program, it's quite neat if you want to have dual-screen setups and stuff, or a split view of a webcam and screen, but it's up to you.

Also, my new mousepad arrived, lets see how much I wear into this thing over the weekend:

Yeah but when you render that it'll just look like a hole in your desk.

Cover the whole desk in them and you've got yourself a boni fide invisibility cloak!

Now we know how the spy's watch works.

Don't you have to purchase XSplit?

You can use it for free if you join Own3D and get linked through there, but you're restricted to 4 storyboards and no ACC audio quality (but you don't need any of that)

Cool thanks, downloading it now.

xsplit works with twitch as well, it's not exclusive to any streaming site.

I think the ACC audio is crucial though, if you're planning to stream music you need something better than the Speex implementation xsplit is using atm. Because it can only really do microphone voice right now, music sounds tinny and has no bass at all, music sounds really poor in other words.

Edit: I have recorded comparisons between the two versions of xsplit. Using the same audio track.
This is ACC audio encoder (recorded with beta xsplit back in november), it's still available to paying customers.

And this is the current xsplit Speex audo encoder. The only option for free users. (the video is low res but its still 1800 kbps, with max audio settings)

Well crap. I'm a big audio-nerd and planned on streaming music the entire time.

I just got done setting all of the xsplit stuff up and configuring my stream layouts for my dual monitors.

I really don't want to have to sink money into this...

It wouldn't be difficult to go onto a T-shirt printing site and put the nodraw font onto a yellow shirt, you know.

... is there going to be legal ramifications if we have people streaming copywritten music? I 99% certain the answer is no, but it was just an idea that popped into my head.

I'm 99% sure nobody would give a shit.

the streaming world is still safe. record companies have not picked up on it yet. they'll get to it eventually but it's mostly safe as of right now.

You can always go with Livestream.com, their procaster application has no limit to the audio.

192 kbit, 44100 stereo, is far from maxing that thng out. Video capture wise, it's decent as well, the only real "drawback" is that a unapproved channel can only have 50 live viewers.

hey, how do you guys feel about orangebrush? I might use it to speed things up a little.
I have ambitious goals for the 72h contest so I'm looking at every possibilities here. If anything can help me beat the odds I will use it.

of course I'm not talking about drawing my plan beforehand with this format but you know...

Oooohh Is use of Joiner permitted?

If it is, please everyone remember to use it. It will save you time and with a tiny bit more effort on the final day can make your map look hugely more finished than leaving it in dev textures (Cause y'know, every little helps)

To illustrate how much time it will save you, it took me a total of five minutes (I timed it) to make this scent from scratch:
