I've gotten to a point where I've run out of written concepts and everything is completely new
I've wanted to do a YouTube series featuring community maps for the longest time. Nothing hugely in-depth or critical, just a short introduction. I figure if I can make the first one this weekend, I'll have a template so future videos will be quicker and easier.

This style kinda reminds me of Zero Punctuation, except grey. I like it.
EDIT: May as well show off what I've been able to do. I had to drop out of the Jam because as soon as it started, something came up and sucked up all my free time. So, eh. Here's what I've been able to make so far: a Team Fortress 2 Classic Deathmatch map set in/around a foundry.
My A1 for sentriza, time to get plays on it!
I have work so I probably won't finish this in 72hr. It's a 2 stage PL map, I have Uncuepa helping me with the 2nd point of the first image and detailing all around, and i'm starting the second stage when i get home.
First point, blu pushes the bomb cart towards an in construction skyscraper.
stage 2 spawn, blu attacks an in-construction red secret skyscraper base.

I really like it. The duration of its brightness and the soft fades is quite realistic, IMHO.
It's just smooth sailing from now on.
I have had a terrible, terrible, terrible epiphany. Back when I started recording footage of community maps, I was just messing around and didn't think I'd use that footage for anything in particular. But then I got the idea to do a map series, so I accumulated hours of clips covering over 50 maps (. . . as one . . . does?). Never once in that time did I stop to consider what resolution/aspect ratio I was recording at and whether that would be compatible with YouTube's 16:9 standard.
Yeah. Everything I have is 16:10, and I have no idea what I can do about it. It's just not gonna work.
As far as I know, there's no way to convert video to a different aspect ratio without quality loss. So I can either forge ahead and have empty space around the clips, or shelve the project until I replace all the stuff I've recorded so far . . . neither of which I want to do. I dunno. I need to sleep on it. And by "sleep" I mean "curl up in the fetal position under the coffee table and mutter in angry tongues until I lose consciousness."
P.S. - If anyone can tell me how to record 16:9 game footage when your native monitor resolution is 16:10, please shoot me a message. I feel like I'm the only one in the world who hasn't figured this out. Thanks in advance.
