You play games on that big ass monitor with a 770? Impressive.

Actually its a gtx 760. Overclocked, but yeah. Its more than enough for games at 2560x1080. VR is different because it has 2 cameras which means twice as many edge calculations than a single camera.

Map compiling can use up to 16 or something cores
Yup, all stages of the compile process can use up to 16 cores, this includes Hyperthreaded cores. So if you're one of the lucky souls with a i7-5960X, you're in luck. It'll compile happily on all 8 cores and all 8 additional threads.

I actually have 2 of the same graphics card in SLI, but it doesn't seem to recognize the 2nd one.

I know there's a launch option that makes it so it does see it. It's -multigpu. Try it again after that and it'll most likely say you're fine.

Well I tried it, and the results were only slightly better:

That's weird. I saw other guys on other forums also running 2 680s in SLI who were well in the green. Guess it's picky.

That, or you have the 2GB of VRAM variants. It doesn't tell.

Now, with everyone who's ready...

who's actually going to pay for it?

I'm gonna wait for at least 2nd generation hardware/games, I haven't had a chance to try a consumer kit yet, but even the Occulus DK2s gave me serious eye strain after a few minutes of use.

I will probably never buy a VR headset. Just not that interested in video games in general. As such I never get into anything until it's a few years old at least, when prices have come down and I know exactly what I'm buying. Kind of sucks to not be on the forefront of something, but at the end of the day I just don't really care about games enough to justify it.
