bonobo - my favorite artist right now. nice moody stuff. he's great at working with lots of interesting samples. his newer stuff just keeps getting better in my opinion as well. sapphire, jets, cirrus, antenna, and emkay off his album "the north borders" are all incredible. his latest ep "flashlight" is great too, flashlight and return to air from that album are sweet.
phaeleh - this guy also makes some awesome ambient, moody music, somewhat egyptian-themed stuff. you'll have to listen to see what i mean. i'm not really liking his newer stuff, but i adore his album "fallen light", especially plateau, losing you, sundown, lament, and afterglow. found him from
this crack clan video, hooked me!
also, kind of unrelated, but if you're into music and have some capable headphones or just want a little boost in fidelity, ditch itunes and download
foobar2000. it's a great alternative, adds full control over the ui, downloadable components to do extra things like find lyrics, manage your ipod etc. but the best is that it supports lossless and high bitrate music which itunes cannot. if you do try it out, i'd recommend watching the
tek syndicate's video series on setting up and customizing things.
here's my foobar ui if you're interested:
