Hello there,

I refently got assigned a project that requires me to measure something fictional. The Professor gave us an example regarding Star Wars.

My idea was to measure TF2’s iconic Hightower and then calculate how much of the map you could see in miles.

Anybody know the formulas and the steps to utilize them?

Might be better to measure CSS or HL2 instead as those are created on real life measurements

What do you mean by "how much of the map you can see", does that refer to the total surface area of every wall, ceiling, and floor? Or just floor? Or are we talking how far out can you see into the distance?

If what you want is just pure surface area of the ground, the size of the walkable space of hightower can be found on an Uncle Dane video on map sizes here:

sitting right at 9.5 kiloHammerUnits squared. If you want to add the area of the chasm on top of that, then just boot up good ol' hammer editor and use the selection tool's measurement doohickeys to quickly measure out the remaining space.
