Alright, the time has come! The final vote!

Here's how this will work. Of the eleven (11) remaining maps, you will choose your 3 favourite, and rank them 1st, 2nd and 3rd. You must provide a short explaination on why you ranked it in such a way.

Your first place will recieve 3 points, 2nd place will receive 2 points and 3rd place will receive 1 point.

At the end of the voting round, the map which has the accumulated the most points, will be the winner! (2nd most gets 2nd place, 3rd most gets 3rd place). So, for example:

Max votes:
1st - cp_billy_72
2nd - tc_lolcopter_72
3rd - koth_pr0gurl_72

Billy would recieve 3 points, lolcopter gets a solid 2 points, and poor pr0gurl gets a measly 1 point.

  • You can not vote for yourself
  • You must have 3 votes, with ranking numbers, for your vote to count.
  • If you do not note what rank your maps are in (1, 2, 3 or 3, 2, 1, etc) your vote will not count!​

1. koth_idolon - Pretty much what yyler said, i was surprised how well this played despite earlier version being utter mess.
2. koth_ravidge - Interesting gamemode, lots of different ways for each class to appraoch attacking/defending the points.
3. koth_hanz - Despite some sightline and balance issues, the layout works and it is generally fun map.

You have to justify them, Wilson. And number them. For some reason.

1. koth_idolon - for not only being the most fun, but mixing ridiculous height scale and death pits successfully.
2. koth_ravidge - for making dual koth work and making it fun too. Shame he won't be continuing it in its current form, the aesthetic is wonderful.
3. koth_hanz - toss up between this and koth_techtf. Both are very similar to Viaduct, but I'll take Hanz' just because he changes it up a bit more.

1. koth_ravidge For making double koth fun to play. I liked the dropdowns behind the points and how they forced players to actively contest both points. Visual style was pretty cool too.
2. koth_hanz I really love how it plays, especially in Highlander. The point is really fun to fight around and sightlines are good, but it could use something... unique? Not sure, but it feels a bit generic.
3. koth_crash I love the detailing and gameplay, fun map.

1. htf_trotim - Interesting concept and by far the most hectic and engaging map of all. It's not perfect, but then again, I don't expect perfection from 72h maps. I had the most fun on this.
2. koth_hanz - Plays good, it has some minor layout issues in my opinion, but delivers a very solid game every time I've played it.
3. koth_crash - couldn't decide between this and idolon. I choose crash because it fits my playstyle more and therefor I have a little more fun on it.

1. koth_ravidge - tho it feels like demo and soldier ownzone, something feels good about how the points are designed
2. htf_trotim - good gamemode and layout took a few playthroughs to break
3. koth_crash_72 - solid map that doesnt break

1. koth_hanz_72_3 My opinion is a bit biased, as I haven't player every map; however, out of all 20-something I played this one was the most fun to play, and it was balanced well. (I actually didn't like Idolon's too much, it was alright but it was a little small/offbalanced)

2. htf_trotim_72_2 I feel as if this is the best entry in the contest that wasn't a KOTH map, and it really beats a lot of those in gameplay and the amount of good times I had on it.

3. koth_crash_72 I liked the aesthetics on this one, and the gameplay was good as well. I can't say I'm fond of the sightlines but overall this one was better than most of the others in balance.

I may change votes eventually because I haven't played koth_ravage or koth_techtf yet.

1. koth_techtf: Viaduct is a good map.
2. koth_ravidge: Pulls off 2 point KotH with class. Needs work.
3. htf_trotim: Nothing special, but fun to play on.

EDIT: wrote actual reasoning other than "fun"

1. Idolon: My favorite part of this map is watching it progress as something comical to something fairly balanced and fun to play. The conveyor belt idea and execution is awesome.
2. Hanz: I love the feel of this map. Everyone has something to do.
3. TechTF: I really love the open feeling around the point, and it's handled well. I really enjoy rocket jumping around this map.

Both are solid, and I feel like came out of the 72 hour period feeling the best to play. I played hanz more but, I like fighting for the point on it better, though tech had better yards.
3. htf_trotim_72_2: The map is a wreck as was submitted, with the game devolving into a game of half second leads creatd by suicidal spies. And yet as I've had the most fun on it of the all the contest maps, I have no choice but to give it one of my votes.

Okay, here's the dealio. Thread is going to stay open til Monday, July 23rd at Noon EST. This is to give people more time to cast some votes this weekend. (Since, I'll be honest, this is kind of underwhelming)

I thought the voting ended the 22nd and may heart sunk when I opened the thread and saw '21st' at the top.

There are/were alot of maps, I would imagine I'm not the only one that, even after three weeks, is somewhat unfamiliar with the entire list of finalists.
