Wierdly enough, Soldier 76 is the character that feels, to me, most galling to be killed by. It's always an irritating shock - here I am firing a icicle gun/lightning cannon/orb, and this fucker comes round the corner with a machine-gun and shoots me. I mean, he seems reasonably balanced, but it feels rather like being beaten at chess by someone who's playing checkers.
I agree soldier 76 feels the least fitting gameplay-wise, theres a reason TF avoided assault rifles

I just got an entire team wipe as soldier 76 and was going to wait to record it when it got to the POTG screen, but it gave it to a junkrat with 2 tire kills. Whyyyyyy!?

I recorded that pretty quick and lost the replay shortly after, I don't get that drop when playing normally at all, that was just from recording.

You've got an nVidia GPU right? ShadowPlay is the best.

Even if you didnt get play of the game, you can view replays of your highlights (I believe they wouldve been play of the games if someone hadnt gotten a better one) on the title screen. Tho be careful, if you exit the game, all of those replays will be lost, so make sure to record them or something before you exit the game.

There's a lot of skill involved in Overwatch. For example, you have to "press q to win"

Yeah that was one of the big problems I had with the Overwatch open beta and why I eventually decided not to buy it, the skill ceiling seems so low compared to TF2 and the Ultimates are a big issues, with characters constantly building them up even after death and you not having a way to know if the enemy has them.

I disagree with both of those - i'm no expert but it definitely seems that for any character, you have to think tactically and time your ultimates - and other abilities - for best effect. I can't think of a single one where just hammering Q as soon as the prompt appears is best. The skill ceiling is still plenty high enough for non-competitive play - Yrrzy and I can tell you horror stories of the McCree who was reeling off a High Noon more than once a minute.

One thing that annoys me is how several classes have their defining features tied to their ultimates - specifically D.Va when outside her mech and symmetra. Symmetra is almost only viable for her teleporter, which she doesn't get for a long time, while D.Va is so feeble without her mech that one might as well suicide when the mech is killed and save yourself the bother. Perhaps it should be the other way round for Symmetra - she can place a teleporter at any time, and can use her ultimate to... idk, give her ten sentry guns to place? Would make her a far more different support.

DVA without her mech is very squishy but she can dish out serious damage. You just need to fall back and pepper people from long range and aim for the head - her light gun is very accurate and can net you a lot of kills if you hang back and play conservatively. Her mech recharges very quickly with some damage from her light gun then you can get back to tanking again.

Hell, in a lot of ways she's more useful outside of her mech, since she can basically snipe a lot of heroes in less than a full clip.
She's a far better sniper than she is a tank.

her projectile speed makes her useless against anyone not standing still tbh

That's like saying Hanzo or Pharah is useless against anyone not standing still.
It's not hard to learn how far to lead, save for the fact that if you're playing D. Va correctly, you'll rarely be out of her suit to try.
