Here's a few screenshots of progress on arena_yanqing, a 2CP arena map for the connect 5 contest!

These use tree models made specifically for the map, which I've released for download here.

To be brutally honest, I was going to make a joke about how good this map looks, but in order to do that I'd need to know how "yanqing" in pronounced.

Is it more like "yanking" or "Yon Keen"?

It was a masterbation joke. ("This maps looks so good I started yanqing my chain the moment I saw it")

I keep starting projects, and then get bored in a week! Really annoying, and I suck at layouts too. I found out the only way I can make a layout I like is by detailing the whole thing, really daft when you think of it.
So here's a little thing I've been doing;

And when I get the seal model finished (big surprise) I posted way back, they'll go quite nicely together.

Definitely my 1st map project that I'm taking seriously.

Redstone Ridge is a Single-Stage Attack/Defense Map that takes place on the edge of a ridge, in a place "presumably" known as a quiet, clean facility that handles "cargo". However, as BLU infiltrates the complex, they stumble upon a RED base with computers, lava, medical experiments gone wrong (probably by red's medic), missile silos, trains leaving with rockets, and much more classified information that we cannot reveal at this time.

Beta coming to the TF2Maps imps soon.

Looks interesting! Always love reading map backstories too c:
I know it's early in development atm but I think the water should have a much-raised texture scale to reduce the noticeable repetition.

Worked today on a small console application to check for map errors that are hard to find manually, such as displacements on entities or with incorrect materials. Only supports reporting three things now, all being about displacements, and I don't know how useful will it actually be. Probably such a thing that you need once in a year but when you do you do.
