I remember when I set up a shooting range in furnace creek "What's this white line on the ground??" from literally every player, no one thinking to look across from it to see the target. :<

Some mvm_underground before and after, between July and now. I took the same picture from the same angles, to see how the lighting and detail compare. Feel free to comment on what you like that I changed, or what looked better before.

I tend to like the brighter images from the first map - if you're going with darker ambient put in more praticle lights around the place - I think you'll get some good contrast happening if you do.

Oh, and by the way, thanks for your input on lighting up my cave map it worked out well: http://forums.tf2maps.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=5862

Yeah, I think you should brighten it up, especially the ground areas. And you've got so many nice details that you can't see due to the shadows :/

Looks rad though

I think it looks fine, honestly. In the before images everything looks kind of washed out.

Here's a teaser image for a Portal 2 mod I'm working on with a group, Portal: Revolution.

While everyone's making fancy overlays for their streams, I'm brainstorming layouts with lego bricks.

I tried sketching some of the ideas out but because I really want to experiment with some vertical components, it just wasn't doing what I wanted. I didn't want to do a bunch of work in Hammer because that's cheating, so I nerded out with my old toys. It's a revolution in map prototyping!

Lots of it will probably never survive to make it into TF2, but it's still a useful exercise.

It vaugely resembles the lego version:

I have lots of issues with it but it's playable so I don't want to do any more work until I see play issues.

Somebody in the test said it reminded them of Jak and Daxter. I'm inclined to agree.
