For the newest of mappers, here is a super quick tutorial for making sure your map scale is correct!

I visited the University of Maryland (edit: just remembered this was taken at UMBC, though I did visit both) the other day, and saw these stairs, and instantly thought of this:

This is now the University of Incorrect Scaling.

thanks, i've been doing it wrong all along! now with this completely insightful tutorial you, too, can make properly scaled stairs!

Real talk; stairs will always be the bane of my existence. I can never get my stairs to look right. :(
I've always done a rise/run of 8/12, and had the steps be 8 high, 12 long. They usually look good.

I think they used tools/invisible instead
(It's tools/toolsinvisible) Or they used tools/toolsblockbullets or even an invisible func_brush. Or this is actually a model of a stair with the collision just being a ramp.
