I wonder how much of an improvement was made. Is it now like the normal bots except different, or is it more like a bot-player hybrid?

Yeah, it's a bit weird that all they had to say was that they "improved" them. It must have been a pretty minor tweak.

Overtime fix, Overdose fix and slightly better bots. That's the sort of update we need more of. Just except the boots.

I'm interested to see how it will work.

... If it is like the HHH or monoculus, then I'll be a little dissappointed. If a new map comes out and they put some thought behind the possible gamplay ramifications and end up making a new map based on the bosses, then wooo!

Well judging by the fact that this information was decrypted from the mountain lab manifest i'm inclined to believe there's no new map. Honestly i wouldn't be bothered by that fact, it's kind of sad that mountanlab takes a back seat like it does right now. I'd be perfectly happy battling robots on mountain lab.

Note: sound names are often very misrepresentative of what they are and are used for.

I'd be very cool with mountain lab getting it's own boss, but I'd rather see entirely new settings for any new npc stuff they might do. I feel whatever they do, it would add more value to have something new rather than revising something old.

In the february 16 patch, robot boss stuff was added to the manifest of hoodoo
and in the february 23 patch, halloween boss stuff was added the dustbowl manifest

In the january 26 patch both the halloween and the robot boss stuff was added to the steel manifest, but also removed from the frontier manifest

Seeing as it was removed from frontier, i suppose its possible that they're just testing stuff, so it doesn't really prove that the robot stuff will actually come in the game

I cant be bothered to check older patches

Hoodoo, Dustbowl, Gravelpit, Steel, and now mountainlab have all had tiny little updates recently. It's worth noting that they're all a/d maps, and current estimates of raid mode suggest that that fits with that.

I'd say mountainlab/dustbowl/hoodoo would fit well with a raid-type gameplay, seeing as they're pretty much a straight line through the level, but gravelpit and steel?

EDIT: Just remembered this stuff:

tobor... robot?
