Not exactly architectural references, but some of these are just begging to be made into overlays.

Image from page 342 of "Breeder and sportsman" (1882) by Internet Archive Book Images, on Flickr

Image from page 1127 of "Highland Echo 1915-1925" (1915) by Internet Archive Book Images, on Flickr

Image from page 551 of "Canadian grocer January-March 1918" (1918) by Internet Archive Book Images, on Flickr

They come from a photostream of 2.6 million images scanned from old books and uploaded, takes a bit of digging to find good stuff since it's a huge hodgepodge of crap, but everything in there has a nice vintagey feel.

For those interested in HL2, L4D2, and Counter-Strike mapping. (And maybe these could fit into TF2, idk...)

Saints Row 3 is a really great place to look for architecture references if you need an urban/suburban environment. (Sorry for my character)

I was interested in doing a tibetan theme recently, but I don't currently have the skills to create assets, but I thought I'd share pictures that I found though.
These are your basic regular pictures from google search, but there are definitely some repeating elements that could be used for asset creation to head in the direction of a tibetan architectural style.

And you can also look into ar_monastery from CS:GO and Expedition Everest from DisneyWhirl.

Not entirely sure how useful this is given that Team Fortress 2 is typically set in the US, but I took some photos of the nearby RAF Cardington Airship Hangars a few years ago.

This is the only one that did the thing any justice though.

I would get a closer photograph but the whole lot is off limits.

The one on the left was in the middle of being refurbished when I took the photo.

Also, car for scale (bottom right of the hangar on the right).

Here's some other photos that I didn't take.

All of these images (as well as mine!) are on Wikimedia Commons which is always a great resource for almost anything.

Someone should make a map set in a museum with a big whale skeleton hanging in the middle.
-snip-

YM was doing something similar with tc_strata back when he was working on it.

If you don't feel like going through every detail entry, and the screenshots aren't enough, this should be some good art reference (even though it's from tf2 itself)

Here are some pictures from my cruise to Bermuda in June. Not really all that architectural, but ya know...
Some pictures may have been taken by other members of my party. Full album here.
