I just took a trip to Boston (for PAX East) via train and made a pass through Chicago, which has, I found, some awesome industrial buildings that fit the TF2 style. Just wanted to share my new reference shots.

These are awesome, Crash. That first one looks just like a BLU base.

I love the angles on that second building. I am definitely incorporating something from that building in the future.

Full album in the link in case anyone missed it.

I've taken a few the past couple years when the wife and I are travelling, I stash them in a 'game concept' folder for future use. I actually started a tf2 map based on some of these a couple years back, but never went anywhere with it.

Some are from Montana, others around where I live, and a few are from work.

Citation needed for ALL of these pictures as I think I've already seen them in TF2 Pyroland - or maybe I'm just been wearing my mask for too long :)

Changed the thread title to reflect the content a bit better. Feel free to dump any architectural references you feel would be related to the TF2 style.

I really need to go out and take some photos of the areas surrounding where I live. Just outside of the city limits I am surrounded by old farmland. There are old barns and farm properties EVERYWHERE.

edit: Oh, apparently I didn't change the thread title. Could a mod change it to "[Resource] Architectural References" please?

    editedit: Thanks Frozen!

I caught an excellent view of some very TF2-looking industrial buildings in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago. The thing is, that view was from the train at Kennywood and was pretty far away, so even if I had been able to whip out my camera in time, I would have only gotten very flat zoomed-in pictures from only one angle, partly obscured by the trees. And judging from the lack of public roads anywhere near them, that's the best view you can get without a helicopter.

Icarus was directly influenced by that :p Well maybe not the exact photo, but the general idea of that.

    I found a TF2:

That's from Dr. Strangelove, but was James Bondsy enough to put in the James Bond album, just fyi.

    Edited:

I wow that map looks cool.
The more TF2 maps to use James Bond as a reference the better.

The mapper in me yells "Quick, make a CTF map just like this picture". I am listening to him.
