    cp_sphere - one point. 8v8 friendly.

    This map is simply a hollow sphere that takes up 8 visleafs (yes it works). It has 16 spawnpoints, none of which are team-specific. The spawn points lie on the horizontal equator of the sphere for maximum initial speed to the control point at the bottom. Unfortunately the computer algorithm used in nav_generate is greatly confused by this map and to make bots move you have to edit/make the nav mesh yourself (it's really an easier process than you think). For the record, the textures are taken from the Spyro: Year of the Dragon level Agent 9's Lab.
    Here's some tips by class:
    Scout: Speed isn't really necessary on this map so much as damage, so scout is a little obsolete.
    Soldier: Best from above. Rocket splash damage and force easily cut down on players grouping on the point.
    Pyro: Combined with speed gained from gravity, pyro is basically w+m1 on steroids. One fell swoop can take out an enemy in a second.
    Demo: Good on the point, better above. Slope allows you to aim above higher enemies and let the timer go off on them. The Iron Bomber is especially good from above.
    Heavy: Very effective for capturing with any minigun due to damage falloff mechanics.
    Engineer: Very limited building abilities due to slopes. Not recommended.
    Medic: Nothing very special.
    Sniper: Able to jarate from a good range up above. A crossbow may be effective at close range.
    Spy: Close quarters and very visible. Be cautious.

    2. Textures are missing. Packing bsp will help
    3. It seems like you used displacement to create the walls. I would recommend using 'carve' tool with sphere brush. (Now I know what people are thinking right now, but I just want to help him make what he wants.) After you carved out the inside of a block, func_detail it.

    But the problem here is that the sphere is not 'sphere' sphere. there are clear jagged edges and awkward geometries

    Well, displacements are perfect for round things because of "Subdivide" button.

    NO NO NO DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS MAN

    Even with the remaining brushes being func_detail, the brushwork is still gonna be absolutely hideous and possibly rife with microbrushes and invalid solids.

    I took a look at this map last night. Truth is that its not going to be fun by any stretch of the imagination. There's nothing really to it. Instead of a giant box room, you present the players with a literal sphere. There's no cover, there's nothing interesting about the geometry that would want people to play past a round. Its a slaughter fest, with a very long capture point (which will be extremely hard to cap at that speed).

    You said there was custom texture content, the reason I wanted to see what it was. When downloaded though, it did not appear. You map was not packed properly.

    Also, your map needed a naming attribute at the end for the version. Cp_sphere is what you download, and it needs a suffix of _a1 or similar.

    Also there's not much to comment on, it's just a Giant Empty Box map in disguise. All I can say is, don't do that, because it's just not gonna work. (OP even said so in his post, scouts are 'obsolete')

    Look at official maps and try to replicate the sorts of things they do.

    You can not say that since you could have gave him proper help before me. At least say something like 'This is shit' and not wait for someone to make an awful mistake and pump the fucking soul out of him. At least it is a bit more constructive then nothing. Yes I made a mistake and I now know that it is bad. Sorry for that Happy Birthday to Me and to people who actually tried to help him.

    wow sorry this is super late Dx the whole sphere is func_detail, by the way. I actually did have one microbrush appear.

    This is my first time sharing a map with custom textures. Never realized the missing texture thing happened and I'll look into this shortly.
    I'm gonna fix this too, probably just move the spawns down a little.
