If the game is awful then complain about how and why it's awful, not how it took 2 years to make; which is frankly not that long for game development either.

If a game is free who cares how long it took to make.

I don't think that the game is really a Valve game. Its sort of a level up from a mod. Like a level up from Narbacular Drop. I don't know much about it, but I think that the game was mostly made before the guys were hired by Valve.

it's something similar 2 how TFC was made and released

for alien swarm it was a UT2004 mod and valve hired the devs to make it for source

with TFC it was a quakeworld mod and valve hired the devs to remake it for goldsrc
