I think alien swarm relies too heavily on custom maps. not a bad idea, but there simply isn't enough maps to keep people around at this moment. perhaps AS should have been first released as a demo with the sdk so people could build a decent amount of content before the official release.
in the long run AS might become a good game but there is really no interest in playing it at this moment.

Well I've just played it and wanted to write a huge review and make a several dozens of points why it suck, but then I thought: "Who gives a shit?". So I ended up in my usual style.
