I was tempted to get one... now i'm kinda glad i didn't. I'd have literally nowhere to put it.

If these things weren't so expensive i'd be tempted to buy about 30 and fill someones room with them.

I wonder if helium would allow these to float, I assume they are beach-ball material, which is very heavy.

Hydrogen, then.

That sounds safe, especially for the pyro.

I worked out that they'd float if the weight of the deflated balloonicorn is under 60 grams.

The difference between hydrogen and helium is only about 5 grams. Negligible for this sized object but must be quite substantial at the size of a blimp!
