    As i'll be horribly drunk (and on vacation to a lesser extend) on Sept 4th, i guess i'll join the week before. I entered multiple 30-120 minute contests back in the Halflife Deathmatch days, but i have to admit all the additional features of Source scare me quite a bit. But yeah, i'll probably get everything done in 7 hours and then die to compiling and packing.

    PS: If someone makes a enjoyable 3 stage PL map in that time, i'll give him/her an additional price. Haven't yet thought of it, but i will.

    If you're worried about time, don't forget that MangyCarFace and Acegikmo did KotH maps in 4 hours. 7.2hrs is a lot of time.

    Mangy and Ace are both fantastic designers. Super analytical and super creative. Argueably two of the best TF2 mappers to come through TF2M and two of the few designers who could make a good map in a very short amount of time.

    (For a "where are they now" thing. Acegikmo is designing one of the most highly anticipated VR games, Budget Cuts.)

    I nearly died when I saw Budget Cuts mentioned. I've played through the demo many times, and I'd consider it a master class in level design. It just does so many things right, and displays an extreme amount of polish for such an early alpha. I can't wait for the full version.

    For additional reference, the Budget Cuts team was invited to work on their project at Valve HQ.

    Ah, no worries. Funnily enough, I've happened to have read that article already, but it was a nice revisit.

    Now, back on topic. Will there be a timer available for this contest? If not, I'd at least like to be able to coordinate my mapping time with others. Worst comes to worst, the way the 72-hour clocks work, they could be repurposed, as long as you start at 7 hours 12 minutes left.

    Is PD logic considered "fancy"? Also does the publically release it part mean that I must release the vmf for the logic before the first weekend?

    I'm going to make the best looking dev map ever. Also, maybe I'll finally try koth. Its the only game-mode I've never even tried on my own, which is probably my biggest mistake as a mapper since its a good base to work off of.
