Nowhere in the rules does it say it needs to be a TF2 map...
I think the fact that it's on TF2Maps clarifies that enough.
I think some of us are planning on doing some voice chat through mumble throughout all the 72h too if anyone else is gonna join in. I also don't think I'm gonna stream this year if that happens, I don't think streaming is that big of a thing anyway really?
im doin this
I will be doing this
I will be streaming as well
I will not wear pants
Yeah I will try to use Mumble through the comp as much as possible, however I have a really young brother so I may need to keep it off in the early hours of the morning.
I'll make a Portal 2 map if I damn well please, thank you very much.
That's the spirit, Dragon! Don't let Crash limit you!
I have an idea for a custom gamemode I want to try out for the contest, but I don't actually know how feasible it is. Is it okay if I make the gamemode now, and copy the entity work over into my contest map when the time comes? I don't think it'd be an issue, since the majority of people in the contest are probably going to be copy-pasting from the ABS gamemode library, but I figured I should ask.
I'm going to assume ADST. You eastern staters like to forget that australia has 5 timezones currently and "Aussie time" can mean any of those.
Seeing about 80% of the population lives in NSW/VIC/ACT/TAS I'd say assuming AEST is correct. I just threw it there so people know that I'm not running on a different schedule to Americanas and Englishanigans.
the timing isn't all that great for me ...
i'll participate if I can
Doesn't make "Aussie time" any more correct or less extremely frustrating for those of us in other timezones.
Just noticed this thing starts the day after my last exam. Sweet, that means I'm on it.
Maybe I'll actually participate this year.
That's how it has worked in previous 72 hour contests.
Time to work for a long time and then have something screw me over at the last minute.
But in all seriousness I hope things work out for me since I have participated in 3 Tf2maps contests and have not been able to submit a single map. Fourth time's a charm?
Ideally it'd be best if you published the entity setup prior to the start of the mapping, but don't worry about it too much. As everyone else is getting away with not having to do their own entity work, I don't see why your time should be penalised for wanting to do something new and creative.
It's also worth noting that if anyone needs special dispensation because their weekend isn't the typical Saturday/Sunday, feel free to drop me a line and we can shift your start and end times by a day or so.
You're stealing my .gif's, man!
