Make that into a model and hide it in pl_inari as some sort of easter-egg. Its a really cool poster.

Custom Content needs to be publicly made available at least one week before the submission deadline.

Which deadline is it, and what if i make it in the last week?

With custom content and the grace period, I ask that you have it released 1 week before the deadline. However, if you need to modify the model, you can do so as long as you release the updated version 3 days before the end of the grace period. This rule is to ensure that if there are people who are relying on an artist, or your art, then you have it released for them to update.

Exception to this is the MvA props. The quality of which will not be considered in the final aesthetics of your entry.

Someone brought to my attention that there are some people who have very specific assets for their map that would only work for just there map (Ie, an overlay used with a portal window. Work just for their map). If you feel you have a very unique asset that works ONLY with your entry, please let me known AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. And we'll deal with these things on a case by case basis.


Please do not wait until the last minute to do that, it's really frustrating.

ONE MOOORE THING.

IF you make the custom content yourself, you do NOT have to release it unless someone else is using it. If you are using it, and ONLY YOU are using it, then it's fine to hold onto and not release.

I don't participate, but I must say I don't get it. How will someone else be able to use it if you didn't release it in the first place?
Or do you mean like, if people collab, only then they will have to release it?

The rule is in place to prevent unjust collaboration.

If Mapper A makes a map and some custom models to go with it, then it is all Mapper A's work and she is not obliged to share the models she made - they were her own work!

If Mapper B makes a map and requests that Modeller C make some models to go with it, then it would be unjust for Mappers D, F, and Q who do not have the same resources, or someone to make a model for them. So any models that are not made by yourself must be publicly available if you use them in your map.

The point is that if you create your own custom content, you don't have to release it for other people to use. You can use your skills to further your own map without the contest forcing you to give it to others.

If someone else makes that content, they have to release it for everyone before the contest ends.

What if I submit a working map before the deadline, and then in the grace period find out there is an area that would work a lot better in a different way and heavily change that, is that allowed or not?

Question on Collabs:

if I edit Valve/Alien content by myself, do I have to repost it?

I currently have different colored alien props, lanterns and a newly textured chalkboard.

Also do models I have made for previous maps have to be re-uploaded?

(Also the entrant are looking good so far!)
