An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:
  • Updated Casual Mode
    • Fixed a problem where in-progress games with open slots would not receive new players
    • Fixed a case where players would sometimes not receive experience (when playing a match to completion)
    • Fixed not getting domination/revenge events
    • Added a feature to the game mode selection screen that allows players to play on specific maps
    • Added the Vote Kick option
      • Players that are kicked will receive partial experience after the match ends
    • Maps previously using the stopwatch timer will now play to completion, regardless of the first team's time
  • Added a "Create Server" button to the "Find a Game" menu
  • Fixed the party chat window sometimes not drawing
  • Fixed Australium weapons not drawing correctly in the character loadout screen
  • Updated the Dr's Dapper Topper to fix a material issue
  • Thanks to Justin G., aka sigsegv, for these reports:
    • Fixed sentry buster sounds not being cleaned up properly after detonating
    • Fixed a bug related to bot death detection
  • Updated Taunt: The Balloonibounce to end the taunt if the player is moved
  • Fixed a regression in the Pyro's flamethrower where flames could sometimes damage players behind obstacles and walls
  • PASS Time update
    • Updated several HUD materials to support mat_picmip
    • Fixed seeing the wrong cap limit in the win panel

The map selection screen

It does look a bit messy in that screenshot. The entire UI needs a bit more padding, IMO: The "View Maps" label is very cramped, as well as the data above the XP progress bar.

And the green bars don't align with their checkboxes! LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE

Also, perhaps they could slightly color the bars based on their length compared to the other bars?

Still really glad to see that Valve added all this. Now that we have votekick, map selection, and faster joining, I think Casual is going to be fantastic!

Also the maps are in a weird order. Some of the other map lists are in alphabetical order, but not payload.

The CTF map list is also missing Sawmill and Well (and 2Fort Invasion).

For some reason Snowplow is listed on the alternate map list instead of Attack/Defend.

YAAAAAAY

MVM Update in the works!

In the past few months Valve has given the MVM bots the ability to use the BASE Jumper and added an air raid sound effect to the MVM files. They're almost certainly working on a new MVM map (who knows if they'll actually ship it though).

Im hoping they use content from the Iron Gauntlet, or just introduce that as the update, and actually include game changing things in a community update for once.

When they describe a bug they fixed as a "regression", does that mean it's something that was fixed at some point in the past but got un-fixed by accident when somebody edited obsolete code?

The CTF map list is also missing Sawmill and Well (and 2Fort Invasion).
not a bug

That's what "regression" means with respect to bugs yes.

Wrong. Bots have been able to use Base Jumper a year or so already
