So yeah, the steam summer sale started today, whats everybody planning on spending their hard earned ducats on? Personally I've heard there is a really good Game of Thrones mod for Crusader Kings II, I'll probably pick that up today.
Got Binding of Isaac + DLC as well as Legend of Grimrock. Other than that only really waiting for a big Skyrim discount but doubt it'll happen.
They are. Have you seen the Grimrock Editor preview? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDmF-h9dRF8 Definitely gonna add replayability, and will be a free update.
33% off right now. Doesn't seem like it'll get any lower. Legends of Grimrock looks kind of fun. I saw Rift on sale, I gotta resist being the mmo whore that I am. Maybe I'll just get Civ V. TO MANY CHOICES.
Almost got Deus Ex: Human Revolution but then I remembered how little of the original I've played at this point and figured if I ever do get around to finishing it, there will be at least two more major sales on Human Revolution by then.
Nothing yet, but i'm keeping my eye on Arma 2, Bioshock 2, The Walking Dead, and Alice: Madness Returns. The one thing that bugs me about the sales is that I look at a rack of discounts and think "Well, in 2-10 days i'll know if those are good deals or not."
I bought Just Cause 2 for my friend so he can play it with me in this Sunday's MP beta. IT'S GONNA BE FUN GUYS
I wouldn't recommend bioshock 2, although bioshock 1 had some major issues with non-fun "side" mechanics that did get resolved by bioshock 2... urgh, it just wasn't fun at all somehow. If you wanna play it for the story then fair enough, but if you're just gonna get it because it's a bioshock game don't expect much. I got Tiberian Wars 3 and 4 because i loved Tiberian Sun and Firestorm and figured i might as well conclude the narrative. I played number 3 around a friend's several years back and was sorely dissapointed by the direction the game went so never got it on release. I figure £2.49 aint so bad to finish the story. I also picked up Terraria finally and some Space Marine DLC.
Alice: Madness Returns for £3.75? There we go, first purchase of the sales. And despite Grazr's review, i'll probably pick up bioshock 2, since it'll be like, what, £3.50? I can drop that on "Not as good as the first." Only other one that's tempted me has been Payday, but since everyone in chat poo-poohed it i guess is should finally stop vacillating and get it off my wishlist.
I played Payday during the free weekend a few months ago, and not only was it boring, the physics were weird, the game was buggy and missions were poorly paced. Really didn't enjoy it. I wouldn't pay for it, let alone waste the bandwidth or disk space. So far: picked up Binding of Isaac, Legend of Grimrock, ARMA II, and Tropico 4 for myself, plus a bunch of stuff for other people. Don't think I will ever play these but whatever
If you haven't bought Borderlands and/or the DLC's yet. Do so now. Hands down, probably one of the best games I've ever played. Artstyle, music, NPC's/Character Personality, environment (though a bit brown), guns, missions, dialogue are just a few of the things that make this game pretty fun-fucking-tastic. And borderlands 2 is gearing up to be great.
