RED naturally doing something that BLU isn't happy with and BLU has to show that unhappiness with EXPLOSIONS. Nestled in an old Australian Iron Mine, RED is getting ready to launch a rocket and BLU is getting ready to blow that sucker up. Who gets to be the cool team and walk away without looking at their explosion?

I'll make note not to. Lol.

Looking really interesting in your second screenshot, although I'm not exactly sure why a crate is stacked up on thin tin barrels.

Looking really interesting in your second screenshot, although I'm not exactly sure why a crate is stacked up on thin tin barrels.

Water isn't a key feature, just something pretty and adds to the area. Why the crate is up there? Idk, its abandonded, I'm blaming ghosts.

It is good that you are playing it simple and not doing anything overly complex.

Second screenshot is like corrode+backlot. Might be a good thing (PROBABLY ISN'T CUZ UR BAD).

  • Get dynamic parts working
  • Blu Forward spawn
  • Redo Blu main spawn
  • Set up Spawn entities

Okay, so I've been trying to get the first elevator to work... No dice.

I have everything working fine (with a minor hiccup at the end of the lift, but not major)... But what is wrong is that if you stand on the platform (brushwork) while going up, you begin to clip through and are basically "dragged' upwards with the cart and get stuck on the platform until you get to the end.

I want to assume that this is an issue with parenting because I don't have this issue when I de-parent the platform from the cart ... that is, everything goes back to normal.

things that might help people help me solve this:
  1. The issue only happens when you are on the brushwork platform, if you stand on the cart, you are fine.
  2. I have tried using a trigger_hurt and a filter, much like the cart does to push people.
  3. I have looked at high-tower and the way they do it is very "big" and I am sure you can do it simpler.

I'd like to get this working so I can write up a guide/tutorial/post about how to do this since I know there are a lot of people who would like to use elevators in their contest maps.

So... Help? :D

from what i've found out while trying to make my spinning turntable work, you will clip through anything that moves upward except an unparented train

probably thats why hightowers lift is "big" - because nothing fucking works the way you'd expect it to
