Solider hands down for me, my main in regular and competitive tf2.

From what it sounds like they are the same for both at least i think, thats the point of the war one of the 2 classes gets the special extra weapon. But we will have to wait and see.

I'm definitely in favor of the demoman. I've been playing medic though, simply because I feel like 1 soldier can take out multiple demomen much more easily or at least more frequently than 1 demoman can take out multiple soldiers. As medic I'm helping get kills on soldiers without providing a body to add to their count.

Honestly, I like both classes, their play times are within a few minutes of each other for me, so I really, really couldn't care who wins.

I give up. Valve did not think this through very well. Soldier will win purely by virtue of game mechanics, and not necessarily community support or skill. People are just going through the motions at this point.
