I do agree that a week is a long time to fix things that will probably take less than ten minutes. Sure, people are busy on the weekend (Compared to being busy during schooldays. Huh.) so, like, Tuesday could be the deadline. I mean really. a majority of maps were submitted before last minute (Fubar, Rav, Grim excluded) so any errors they probably have already noticed.

No. He means if you didn't compile with playerclips, go fix that.

If your BLU flag gets capped by having RED touch it (like what happened in Mexico a bit ago), fix it.

If you have a 2048 unit long sightline where fps drains to 2, sucks for you.

[I think]

I doubt they're going to go through every map with mat_visleaf 1 checking that you havn't also changed/added hint brushes. But i guess that comes down to your moral obligations to adhering the rules. Personally, i would have considered that game breaking but shit like that doesn't generally pop up over night.

As for my missing poster, i've been allowed to submit a version with it in in the week leeway. It's not what it's there for but YM and ID said i could get away with it.

They had 5 months to produce potential errors, entry's have only just been submitted. Anything could have happened to their new compile, such as missing the tools visgroup. Shit happens.

5 months is for making a map for the contest. This is for any error that was developed in the rush to get a final release for the contest.

The map doesn't have to be perfect, but if its something that clearly needs to be fixed in order to be playable, this week is for finding such errors.

Shit happends with compiles, packing and so on. Okay.
But a week is a long time, when all you really need is 1 hour to check if you map works like it should. Then another short pit stop to recompile and release again.

Then to fit it to everyones schedule make it a 2 or 3 days period. 7 is waaaay to long.

not server crashes ect. you need more time to make sure it doesn't have an intermittent crash.

The grace period length doesn't matter, it doesn't mean we're just gunna sit and twiddle our thumbs for an entire week. It just means if anything pops up in the next few days (my mind is far away from the contest so when I say week I mean "few days + some" and not a rigid 7 days) you'll have a chance to fix it before we say "tough tits, you're out of the contest"

I encourage all members who can, to set up pugs on as many of the maps as they can using our servers and the lobby system. Don't be silly and assume nothing is going to happen in the grace period.

I'll get right on it as soon as the redirect starts accepting files again.

I've offered to run these, but right now I either need rav or rcon!

Well judging can effectively start.. but if there is a map with something drastically broken it can be fixed in the mean time rather than just out right disqualifying an otherwise submission worthy map.

Duly noted. I'm pretty sure the maps are at least loading on all servers, and I adjusted the map cycles. We'll give it just a couple days, then break out the voting threads.

More members with rcon would help a lot. Right now, pugging is almost stagnant since we pretty much have to wait for ravidge or DRP
