    i still have hope for half-life 3 ever being a thing but i think l4d3 is the most likely next valve game

    Look, we know HL3 is in development. Gabe himself has said it numerous times, be it in really sketchy ways, and all the findings in files basically confirm its existence, just like L4D3. This tool is basically the Dota 2 map editor but now for VR development. From the pictures of the Hammer 2.0 editor it doesn't really look all that useful when building maps for TF2 (or CS:GO for that matter).

    Im not going to get excited until there's an announcement when it comes to any sort of new valve game, even with there being evidence of it being developed. It's nice to know those things, but it doesnt really lead to a solid confirmation that it's "coming soon".

    New valve games will come whenever they please, and although I await their arrival I'm not going to get excited until they have arrived.
