Hi map testers, so as you may have seen cp_alloy was put in the ETF2L Map Test Cup. Now this is alright, except in most peoples opinions it should have been balanced more before thrown into competitive, but there is no way to do that outside of your pub testing, but then this map which has been solely balanced on pubs is now being played in a real competitive format and problems arise.

I went to Chandos and brainstormed the idea with him, and we're interested in solving this problem, there's already a mix group that a community called Team Colonslash organise: a highlander mix/pug of comp players (18 players mixed up into teams of 9), what we're going to try start is a semi regular thing where we get the more motivated and knowledgeable players to tests alpha/beta maps and give constructive feedback to the creator. If the map seems promising we can scrim the map with actual teams of varying levels to get the most feedback possible.

Note, this will be a semi regular thing - once a week at most maybe. Me and Chandos would look at maps ourselves to see what has the most promise to then test. Feel free to use this as a suggestion thread for any ideas you might have. Contact me http://steamcommunity.com/id/popkern or http://steamcommunity.com/id/chandos/ (leader of TC Mixes)

    What we'll use: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tcmixes

Thanks for reading, hope most of you like the idea :)

This is a good opportunity for people who would like to get their maps tested in a competitive environment and I would encourage anyone who is serious with their map to think about it!

Feel free to look at koth_sekhmet and offer comp-oriented feedback.

Eventually I'll want some feedback on cp_antiquity but that map will be undergoing some extensive changes first.

So, how are you meant to submit a map?

Do you contact OP on steam with details and a download, or do as EArkham has done and post in this thread?

Whichever you prefer, if you comment here I can go back if I ever lose it, steam chat is a bit unreliable for that. Just so everyone knows - I went ahead and chose koth_forge_b2k for the first map test, but keep your maps coming if you'd like highlander feedback!

If you need any information on how we will test the maps in the mixes, what kind of players will test it and the kind of things I will ask the testers, feel free to shoot me an add :>

I would suggest being picky with which maps you test, nothing kills a testing pug quicker than playing maps that clearly will never work for the format.

Yeah. We will look at the maps ourselves before thrown into a pug, to get a bit of an idea how it will play.
