Alright, after spending some time in NYC (completely unrelated to this) I have decided that if someone has a LEGITIMATE REASON (to be determined based on my disgression) that they cannot compete this week and would like to have their 72hr competition started NO EARLIER than Weds, January 15th, 2014 I will allow it.
To get this pre-launch, you must PM ME ON TF2MAPS.NET with your reason (Keep it short, but use as many words as you need to explain your situation). Tell me if it's better for your to start on the 15th or the 16th. I will assign you a time to start at, based on your situaiton. You will have 72hrs to complete your map, etc. etc. If I do not receive a PM ON TF2MAPS.NET including your map and a screenshot I will not allow you to enter. You must also follow the rules and submissions guidelines outlined in this thread.
To be fair, the theme will be announced on JANUARY 15th 2014. Regardless of if people start on that day or not. Congratulations.

Just as a note, all maps created DURING the 72hr contest will be allowed for use after the contest in the new Two-Skillset contest. HOWEVER the map that you submit into the thread will be the official entry that will be judged.
I guess I will participate. If i can get obs to work I will stream.
If you haven't noticed the big timer up on the banner yet, then you should get your eyes checked. Thanks to geit for that! It will show the amount of time left in the contest starting on Friday at 4pm. Now all we need is a theme... Which comes tomorrow at some point.

As promised, there was a theme this year. I didn't want to be too restrictive, I didn't want to be too vague. So I decided to go with a simple phrase.
Interpret that as you wish. Does your map have a bunch of male restroom signs? Does BLU have to stop red from preparing dinner? Who knows! It's up to you!
The official start of the contest is 4pm EST on Friday, Jan 17th. You will have 72hr hours from that point to make a map from scratch, that fits within some interpretation of that theme. Gooooooood luuuuuck!
