I'm talking more about the blazay attitude everyone has towards our gamedays and the submission of feedback, not the fact that feedback might be negative rather than positive. The aggression, insults, general hostility towards authors and sarcasm serve no purpose in the feedback process. People seem to have forgotten that whilst we're all here because we enjoy this, gameday's aren't merely casual games where we can all wave our dicks about in joint cynicism.

I'm also talking about the problem Arnold has with people leaving premature feedback. Saying "map is confusing" after playing it for 10 minutes is just hard work for the author to put into context. People should be more considerate when placing their feedback; and the fact that we're all mappers here means we should know better.

Nobodies going to be banned for giving negative feedback, these forms of cencorship are even more detrimental to our tests than stupid comments which is why this kind of thing has become a problem, it's difficult to moderate. But a "how to guide" for feedback and a couple mute/gags probably wouldn't go a miss. If you were that pissed off during the game about something you can come back to this thread after you've had the chance to cool off.

Are there any plans on removing the doorways near points 2 and 4 that are now permanently blocked off? I swear every time I play I expect those to open when I run up to them, particularly since there is still an exit sign over them.

maybe because the layout was built to support that door for over a dozen versions so it feels natural to move toward it

maybe because it has a glowing sign above it

maybe because the doors were blocked very late in development so old playtesters and people familiar with it from the contest still expect the doors to be active

maybe because if you block a door there is no reason to leave it in

i remember you did this with part of bazillion and it confused people there too

thought you'd have learned from that

by the way your blu spawn window looks out on skybox, not the detail scene

Oh yyler everything you say makes other people look dumb, I think everyone can appreciate that.

I'm aware of those facts, still doesn't remove the fact that you should know it's closed once you played it a single time.

Fool me once.

I'd also like to say that I think it's cool to keep a part of 'history' in a map. I think it tells a story and i've seen plenty of detail areas in other maps which are doors or pathways the only difference is that it doesn't have the glowing sign and that it used to be open.

Axle has windows looking onto CP1 from the spawn that use a glass door prop (the one from 2fort's flag room) that was never used as a door in the game and shouldn't ever be confused with dynamic door props, it doesn't have a sign above saying that they are doors that should be used and never worked as a door in any version, but people still try to use them.

Not only do people still complain about it, but it's the number 1 complaint about the map.

It's the kind of arguement you'll take to the grave with you... it doesn't matter how not-stupid you expect people to be, TF2 players will always make the same mistake over and over again.
